Feza Lwango – Empowering Women Through Economic Support

As part of our coverage on community economic empowerment initiatives, we met Madame Feza Lwango Mamy, a member of the AVEC group Bololoke in Kabare. Her group benefited from the Women and Youth Socio-Economic Empowerment Project, supported by Eastern Congo Initiative.

Through this initiative, designed to address local economic challenges, members received interest-free credits and high-quality bean and soybean seeds, enabling them to strengthen income-generating activities and improve their livelihoods. Before receiving this support, Madame Feza faced significant financial barriers: insufficient capital to meet market demand, limited access to traditional financial services, and minimal resources to grow her business.

Thanks to ECI’s support, she can now revive and expand her agricultural activities, invest in new projects, and achieve greater economic stability. Madame Feza highlights that the program’s combination of financial aid, guidance, and technical support was crucial to her autonomy and success.

Today, she reports improved crop production, better income management, and increased community recognition. She plans to expand her farmland and strengthen her savings, diversifying her revenue sources.

“I am no longer just a beneficiary; I have become an example within our group,” she proudly declares.

Madame Feza’s journey demonstrates how structured economic support and empowerment programs can transform lives, boost women’s entrepreneurship, and drive sustainable development in rural communities.
